The essence of our terroir. Essential, because we like the combination of Syrah and Grenache noir and as to our preference for classic and authentic red wines from the south of France. A fresh, fruity and unoaked red that we can enjoy young and over time as it evolves towards more and more complexity.
The colour is black cherry with purple tints.
The aromatic palette is complex, mixing notes of pepper, then tobacco as well as toasted black fruits.
The palate is full, rich, with young and coated tannins, leaving a complex finish of spicy, toasted notes and aromas of crushed black fruit.
A gorgeous straight red pairing perfectly with meat, game and poultry. Ideal with entrecote and steaks and lamb. Perfect for stronger flavoured and spicy dishes. Prunes, chocolate, onions, garlic, mushrooms, pepper, and olives, laurel, thyme or rosemary are the basic ingredients for perfect Syrah dishes. Also a good accompaniment for grilled salmon or strong-tasting vegetarian dishes, such as a pasta dish with spicy tomato sauce and mature grated cheese.
Syrah marries well with mature hard cheeses produced from cow or sheep’s milk. (Parmigiano Reggiano, Sbrinz, Pecorino or Manchego). Also appropriate for mature and fruity soft cheeses such as Camembert, Münster or Brie de Meaux.
Strong Syrah wines harmonise beautifully with chocolates made from high-quality cocoa beans. Simply try a piece of dark chili chocolate with a small sip of Syrah wine. The interplay of fine bitter chocolate, fiery chilli notes and typical Syrah aromas of black currants and spices will inspire you.
